Ray, a certified public accountant, is the Chief Executive Officer of Accounting Resources Inc., a company he acquired in 2007.
Prior to joining ARI, Ray was CEO and major shareholder of Byram Healthcare Centers, Inc., a national leader in disposable medical supply delivery. Under Ray’s leadership, the company grew from $20 million to $150 million in revenue and was recognized as the best positioned and most diversified company in this segment. The company was sold to a public Dutch concern in 2008.
Ray’s career in healthcare began with his participation in the leveraged buyout of what is today Apria Healthcare, a $2 billion provider of healthcare services. At the time of buyout, Apria Healthcare was a $70 million healthcare provider. Along with other members of the management team, Ray successfully grew the business to $1.2 billion by 1996 while taking it public in 1992. During his time at Apria, Ray held various positions in senior management both at the operating and staff levels.
During his years in healthcare, Ray sat on numerous industry and company boards where he helped establish strategic direction.
Prior to his years in healthcare, Ray was with Arthur Andersen & Co., a leading public accounting firm, where he focused on providing accounting services and support to non-public companies in all industries.
At ARI, Ray acts as managing partner and also fulfills the CFO function for select clients that he believes can benefit from his diverse experience.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and is active in many state and national accounting organizations.
