Glastonbury Dental Associates is a dental partnership that was formed in 1980. Since that time, the practice has grown to include three dentists and 17 staff members. Dr. Jon Susat shared with us his experience in outsources their accounting and bookkeeping function to ARI.
"Our accountant recommended ARI to us. At that time, it was taking my office manager and me up to eight hours per week for accounting and bookkeeping." Dr. Susat also felt that the in-house competency at Glastonbury Dental for employee payroll and benefits wasn't where he wanted it to be. "ARI was able to facilitate the payroll process in addition to their accounting and bookkeeping service package."
"Jackie Medina is our current accounting manager," noted Dr. Susat, "and she's great. She communicates with us on a regular basis and we also have access to other ARI team members on a regular basis."
"The biggest benefit of working with ARI is knowing where we are on a minute-to-minute basis. Depreciation is calculated on a monthly basis, tax information is regularly provided to our CPA and we can make better projections about the price."
Before ARI, Dr. Susat was considering adding a staff member to take over the accounting, bookkeeping and payroll duties that were distracting him and his office manager from their daily duties. "I found ARI's monthly fees to be reasonable. And we probably end up spending less money with our CPA because of the preparation ARI does - so it's a wash."
"We can focus more on our business because of ARI," Dr. Susat said. In fact, he's now working with a consultant to expand the practice. "ARI's work has been foundational to us being able to consider expansion. The consultant has been very impressed with our bookkeeping and accounting."
When asked if Dr. Susat would recommend ARI to other business owners, he stated, "Definitely. We don't know what we don't know about accounting. ARI provides guidance and that guidance helps us make decisions."
