Payroll Specialist

ARI’s Human Resources is looking to add a full-time Payroll Specialist to our team who will be responsible for managing the payroll process for our clients’ ensuring requests are processed accurately and timely. The ideal candidate will have the ability to demonstrate prior experience balancing multiple client relationships and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain strong relationships with ARI clients.
  • Accurately process payroll for employees, including calculating wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses as needed.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and related reports (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.
  • Handle employee inquires regarding payroll issues and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Generate payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll, tax, and benefits reports.
  • Operate, maintain, and the ability to learn multiple payroll systems (e.g., ADP, SAP, Workday).
  • Assist in the implementation of new payroll systems and processes.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 4-5 years of experience in payroll processing or related roles.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (especially Paycom, ADP, & Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong ability to work independently, while seeking guidance where necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
