Accounting Resources, Inc. Increases Staff and Expands Office Footprint

By Accounting Resources October 09, 2023

Accounting Resources, Inc. (ARI) is experiencing significant growth and has expanded into an addition 5,000 square feet of newly designed office space and increased the number of employees by 40% to meet the increasing demand of small business owners and not-for-profit executive directors looking to outsource their accounting and human resources functions.

The new office space, which is adjacent to ARI’s existing office in Glastonbury, includes large and small conference areas, shared office space, as well as a bistro and common area.

Tony Zambrello, ARI president and chief operating officer, explains the impetus for growth, “The recent pandemic has only fueled the desire and readiness of leaders to outsource. Faced with a challenging labor market and increasing hiring costs, many companies are turning to outsourcing as a way to manage their accounting and HR needs.

“We’re finding that, in this time of increased resignations, business owners often reach out to us in despair because their accountant or HR generalist has suddenly left the organization and there is no one to manage the business’s day-to-day accounting or HR function. With ARI, they eliminate that single point of failure because there are always at least two ARI professionals familiar with the day-to-day workings of their organization.”

Tony Allen, ARI chief executive officer, added, “Given the benefits our clients are reporting, we don’t see the shift to outsourcing slowing anytime soon. Small business owners and not-for-profit executive directors often expend a lot of time and energy managing their day-to-day accounting and HR functions. But, when they outsource to ARI, they find they have a lot more time to focus on their core business activities and they can sleep better at night knowing they have a team of experienced professionals on hand to get things done, and to rely on, not only as a sounding board, but also as an operational and strategic partner.”

ARI partnered with local designer and contractor to incorporate elements of biophilic design (properties found in nature) into the new office space to enable employees to connect with elements in the natural surroundings. The new space offers an abundance of natural light, custom woodwork and stonework, overlooks a lovely , wooded area, and includes a common area where employees can connect with one another and bolster ARI’s team-based approach to serving clients.

“We value our employees and the experience they have amassed in their respective fields,” said Allen. ” Our culture leans heavily toward providing team members with robust career development opportunities and a strong work-life balance. That’s why so many of our employees have been around for a very long time. And its why many new folks have recently signed on to join the team.”

“Over the last 35 years, ARI has become not only a trusted outsourcing resource but a valued partner for hundreds of organizations,” added Zambrello. “We have earned an excellent reputation for world-class accounting and HR expertise and a straightforward communication approach that puts clients at ease.”
