Mike Thurz

Mike is ARI’s Senior Vice President of Accounting Resources, Inc, and has been with the firm since 2010. He currently oversees non-profit services and brings more than 30 years of accounting and business experience in a wide range of industry segments including non-profit, retail, construction, insurance, and financial services.

Prior to joining ARI, Mike was a senior manager at the accounting firm of Saslow, Luftkin & Buggy LLP. His primary focus was on non-profit accounting, specialty manufacturing, and auditing.

Earlier in his career, Mike started, owned, and operated a specialty retail business that grew into a multi-state operation with 10 brick and mortar locations, online, distribution, and mail-order business segments. After 14 years, the business was sold in 2007 to a private investor.

He began his professional career as an auditor with the national accounting firm of Ernst and Young, LLP where he worked for eight years. While at Ernst & Young, Mike had the opportunity to work on many engagements in a wide variety of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, insurance, and forensic accounting.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from University of Hartford and is a certified public accountant in the state of Connecticut.
