Tony Allen

Tony, an initial investor in Accounting Resources Inc. (ARI), is the Chief Executive Officer and a Member of the Board of Directors. In this role he brings more than 35 years of global strategic consulting, business development and operating management experience in diverse industries.

Prior to joining ARI, Tony was a Managing Partner and Founder of The IMPACT Group, a consultancy of experienced senior executives from diverse industry backgrounds that worked with a clientele of international organizations in the development and deployment of strategy and operational performance improvement.

Tony’s career began with Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), a Fortune 500 global technology firm. During his 14-year tenure, Tony developed from project scientist to Senior Vice President leading the start-up and management of a U.S. region of a science and engineering business unit that he grew to $45 million in revenue in 4 years.

Following ABB, Tony served as Vice President of Operations at San Francisco based, publicly traded engineering consulting and software firm, Tenera, Inc. In this role he helped restructure the company and spin out a new software start-up, Spear Technologies, Inc., in which he served as Chief Operating Officer and a Member of the Board of Directors. Spear became the leading supplier of Enterprise Asset Management Software to the Public Transportation Industry and was later sold to one of the largest enterprise resource planning software companies.

At ARI, Tony is responsible for strategy deployment, technology and improving operational effectiveness. He also consults with ARI clients to develop and deploy new strategies and improve core processes.

Tony was educated as a Scientist at the University of Maine and in Leadership and Business Management at the Swiss Institute of Management Development, Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and the Fuqua School at Duke University. He is also a graduate from the Center for Creative Leadership. Mr. Allen has served on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Technology Council since 2001 and is currently the Vice Chairman.
